Star Prospector

Star Prospector is a single-player strategy game set in a future science fiction universe. Star Prospector mixes elements of real-time strategy and role-playing game genres resulting in a totally new & unique gaming experience. The player takes on the role of a prospector, a one-person mining, salvage, and construction unit, taking on missions on remote planets across the galaxy in search of resources, technology, and adventure.

At the start of the game the player will choose their prospecting rig, an all-purpose construction, combat, and mining vehicle, that will be used throughout the game. There are 3 rigs to choose from. The rig can be outfitted with a large selection of weapons and various upgrade modules.

The 100 missions in Star Prospector are randomly generated (including story centric missions). A random seed is used to create a unique galaxy every time the player creates a new profile.

In each mission the player will be transported to a unique planet. There the player must build a base, gather resources, create units, and complete assigned mission objectives earning experience and credits. Scan and mine ore, build wells to collect fuel, and establish a secure mining operation.

The core gameplay involves holding off Scavenger raiders and hostile creature attacks, while you build the forces necessary to complete your mission objectives. Defensive options include a variety of turrets as well as combat bots. It is entirely the player's choice as to what technology to purchase with the credits earned by completing missions.

You will need to produce units in order to complete missions. Going solo with your rig is possible but extremely challenging without additional units. Bots have the additional benefit of leveling up during combat. Keeping high level bots alive (using health canisters) is a good strategy for producing a powerful army. Buildings such as the super-computer and the bot-upgrader are also available to increase bot stats. Bots can be equipped with shields as well as armor, speed, and damage upgrades.

Light bots are cheap and can be upgraded

After completing a mission the player earns experience and credits. At each level of experience the player will get skill points and gain access to new units, buildings, and items. You can outfit your rig with additional weapons from the store. There are also a variety of items and modules that can add additional features to your rig such as shields, radar, and other stat boosts.

The addictive elements of role playing games such as loot drops, skill points, experience and leveling mechanics, add more variety to the typical real time strategy game experience.
